Every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer.
With more than 200,00 new cases in the U.S. expected this
year alone, early detection can mean the world of difference
in saving lives for many women.
Since its introduction in 1997, the Westside Challenge has
helped thousands of women in local communities receive low-cost
screening and diagnostic mammograms. Thousands more have received
important educational information on early detection and surviving
breast cancer.
Through its unrelenting dedication to offer screenings and
reach out to community women, the Westside Challenge has helped
a total of more than 1,200 women receive low-cost mammograms
to date.
Additionally, more than 56,000 women have been educated about
breast health. Through the tennis marathon and other upcoming
special events, the Westside Challenge seeks to continue reaching
out to thousands of community women each year to raise awareness
and funds for the continued fight against breast cancer.
